The Gin Game

Winner of the 1978 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and nominated for four Tony Awards, The Gin Game symbolizes life in the form of a card game in a two-act, two-character play starring Rick Huhn and Cathy Jewell Fischer. In The Gin Game, Weller Martin and Fonsia Dorsey strike up an acquaintance and begin to play gin rummy. As the game progresses, intimate secrets of their lives are revealed and they begin to search for each other’s weaknesses in both the game and life itself. With this production, Rick and Cathy join an elite history of famous duos who have previously battled in The Gin Game, including original stars Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy (the 1977 Broadway production and 1981 TV movie), Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore (the 2003 PBS television special), and James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson (the 2015 Broadway Revival).

Rick Huhn ( Weller Martin)

Rick is excited to be back at HCT and working with Bob Reese and the rest of the incredible cast and crew of "The Gin Game". Since stumbling into theater at the age of 40 he has had the chance to work with some very talented actors and directors in various community theaters and is always looking for opportunities to try to learn this craft called "acting". He would like to thank his wife Carol for encouraging his acting pursuit and putting up

with the weeks of rehearsals.
Cathy Jewell Fischer ( Fonsia Dorsey )
This is Cathy’s first production with HCT. Cathy began her acting career in Rome, Italy, performing with two English-speaking theaters, and continued back in NY with Off and Off-Off Broadway productions as well as performances of musicals and straight plays with community theatre productions throughout Westchester County.
