Every picture tells a story. What about every mother of the bride’s dress? The production of “Stories from Mothers of the Brides” tells those tales. This series of monologues reveals the histories behind the mothers of the brides dresses of 25 women. Their stories range from laugh-out-loud funny to touching.
The play was written and directed by area resident Doreen Blue and made its world premiere at Brevard Little Theatre in March. Blue is the costume manager for Hendersonville Community Theatre. Almost certain that everyone can relate to these women’s stories of unexpected turns of events, disappointments, feelings of accomplishment, hilarious mishaps and more.
There will be two performances: Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 19, at 2 p.m. As part of an HCT Special Fundraising Event, there is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. Any donations are always appreciated. No tickets or reservations are required.
