Facts About Hendersonville Theatre and Our Process
- We are a community theatre. Actors and many production roles donate their time, talent, and energy. We have a modest production budget and provide a stipend for directors, stage managers, musical directors, choreographers, musicians, designers, scenic painters, and board operators for each production.
- We compensate our actors with audience tips. We cannot guarantee a stipend, but actors equally split tips collected from the audience during each performance.
- We have a health and safety policy in place. To support our productions, we update protocols as circumstances require. We take any infectious disease seriously and take measures to keep our actors and production teams healthy.
- We have a unique theatre all our own. Our theatre campus is 229 South Washington Street in Hendersonville, NC. Our theatre seats 117 in an intimate space with a traditional proscenium stage. We also have some limited options for additional rehearsal spaces if needed.
- All shows will participate in a season audition and individual show callbacks set by the theatre. While directors are responsible for casting their shows, our Artistic Director assists to ensure there are no casting conflicts. Season auditions are set for November 1-3, 2024.
- Hendersonville Theatre is committed to diversity. We strive to represent the diversity of Western North Carolina on our stage, in our audience, on our staff, and within our leadership. We strongly encourage candidates of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, and abilities to apply.
We look forward to seeing your vision for our stage!
