Hendersonville Theatre has been awarded a grant of $25,000 by the Community Foundation of Henderson County.

Celebrate Pride with Hendersonville Theatre on June 3
This year’s festivities will feature queens Celeste Starr, Mimi Monroe and Lethia Dose. The Celebration’s ticket price includes a bingo card (a $5 value) and one beverage. The show will include adult comedy, music, dance and fun-filled games of bingo.
Staged Reading Series Meets May 14
HT’s The Staged Reading Series offers exciting script-in-hand readings of new plays by emerging local playwrights. Readings are followed by a talk back with the playwright and actors to provide feedback to the playwright.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of HCT is to inspire, nurture, enrich, empower, educate, entertain and challenge artists and audiences with theatrical productions that range from the classics to new works; we train and support the next generation of theatre artists; we provide arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community, and we celebrate the essential power of the theatre to illuminate our common humanity.
PURPOSE
- To continue to increase the cultural life of the people of Henderson County and surrounding areas. To be a leader in the display, preservation and performance of local arts and contemporary craft. To contribute to the increased enrichment by presenting diverse voices that effectively reflect a broad array of cultural backgrounds and viewpoints. To actively encourage, promote and cultivate an appreciation of the Arts.
- To produce, publish and present various dramatic works of literary and artistic merit, both established and experimental, approved and untried for the entertainment, enjoyment, and the intellectual and emotional stimulation of all ages, skill levels, needs and backgrounds.
- To further provide the knowledge and development of skills in the dramatic and associated arts and crafts by working participation, academic and vocational training as well as instruction in all phases of theatre production; ranging from the reading and writing of plays, musical compositions to the challenges of business administration and management.
