Hendersonville Theatre Internship Program
Requirements & Qualifications:
Hendersonville Theatre is seeking passionate and dedicated interns for our Internship Program! Whether you’re interested in performance, technical theatre, arts administration, marketing, education, or another aspect of the industry, this hands-on experience will provide valuable training and mentorship in a professional theatre setting.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old by the start of the internship. (Some positions may require interns to be 18+.)
- Current high school, college, or graduate students, as well as recent graduates, are encouraged to apply.
- A passion for theatre, the arts, or arts administration, with a desire to learn and contribute to a dynamic production environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively with artists, staff, and fellow interns.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to commit to the duration of the internship program, including evening and weekend availability, depending on department needs.
- Willingness to take initiative, learn new skills, and adapt to a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Some positions may require physical activity such as lifting, climbing stairs, or standing for extended periods. If you have any health-related needs or require physical accommodations, we will work with you to ensure accessibility and support.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Previous experience in theatre, arts, or events is a plus, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or other relevant software is helpful for administrative and marketing positions.
- Familiarity with social media platforms for marketing internships.
- Technical theatre interns may benefit from gaining experience in areas such as lighting, sound, set construction, or costume design.
